Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Barbara Casanova Consulting ("BCC," "we," or "us") collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to barbaracasanova.com and to any contact you have with us by email, web form, phone, or social media.

BCC is a consulting firm Limited Liability Company registered in the State of Florida that provides political consulting, civic engagement strategy, and program management services. By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use a contact form, book a consultation, subscribe to our email list, or write to us, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, organization, job title, and the content of your message. Clients also share project materials and business information as part of an engagement.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from other sources

We may receive publicly available professional information (for example, from LinkedIn), referrals from colleagues or clients, and information from the scheduling, email, and payment platforms we use.

Sensitive information

Our website is not designed to collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or health information. Please do not send them to us through the site or by email.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • —Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations
  • —Provide, manage, and invoice consulting services
  • —Send newsletters, event invitations, and updates you have asked for or that relate to your inquiry (you can opt out at any time)
  • —Operate, secure, and improve our website and services
  • —Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

We do not use your information for purposes that are materially different from these without telling you first and, where required, getting your consent.

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how visitors use it, and improve it. These may include essential cookies and analytics tools.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these situations:

  • —Service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting, email and newsletter platforms, scheduling tools, payment processors, and accountants. They may use the information only to serve us and must protect it.
  • —Professional advisers such as attorneys and insurers, when needed.
  • —Legal and safety reasons, including responding to lawful requests, enforcing our agreements, and protecting the rights and safety of others.
  • —Business changes, such as a merger or sale of the business, with continued protection of your information.
  • —With your consent or at your direction.

Client confidentiality and political and advocacy work

We treat client information as confidential. We use it only to deliver the engagement and share it only as the client authorizes or the law requires.

When we handle voter files, supporter or donor lists, or similar data on behalf of a campaign, organization, or coalition, we act under that client's instructions. We do not use that data for our own purposes, combine it with other clients' data, or sell it. The client's own privacy policy governs how it collects and uses that data. Our outreach work follows applicable election, campaign finance, and communications laws, including rules on texting, calling, and email.

This policy covers BCC only. It does not cover other organizations, campaigns, or employers with which our team members are affiliated; those have their own policies.

Data retention and security

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. Client and billing records are typically kept for seven years for tax and legal reasons. Inquiry and newsletter data is kept until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices and privacy rights

Email

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (for example, in California, Colorado, Virginia, and Texas) may give you additional rights, such as the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define the terms. We will honor reasonable requests even where the law does not require us to.
